Longing to belong

I don't belong
anywhere.

I never have,
and I'm old enough now
to know
I never will.

On my strongest days
I'm able to wear that
not belonging
like a badge of honor,

but in those weaker moments
that I can't outrun,
I'd give anything
to fit in,
anywhere.
